Position Objective
The Private Security Detail Team Member (PSDTM) members report directly to their designated Team Leader (TL) or the 2IC in the absence of the TL. Team members contribute both individually and as part of the Security Detail to the effective and sustainable planning, preparation and execution of security operations. Within a PSD, primary appointments are Vehicle Commander (Veh Comd), Personal Protection Officer (PPO) and Rear Observer (RO). All team members can be expected to be employed as vehicle drivers and general security operators, subject to individual skill sets, availability and the intent of the TL.

Position Responsibilities
Fully integrated team member and contribute to safe and secure conduct of operations and training.

Overview Of The Position:
General Functions:

Train, advise and assist the leaders of convoys in the preparation, the conduct of their mission and communication within the convoy.
Using experience of convoy and escort management in desert environments, help convoy and escort leaders identify context and location specific IED threat mitigation measures
Train, advise and assist convoy and escort leaders to predict vulnerable points, observe warning signs in situ, and accurately recognize/confirm IED threats, followed by the effective communication of this information within the convoy
Reinforce the execution of explosive search operations, as learned during training, through the review, reinforcement and implementation of SOP, practice drills, and other practical in theatre actions
Support the leaders of convoys and escorts in the reporting process and lessons learned.

Drive Executive Group members and other VIPs to meeting locations as dispatched Drivers will provide service as requested of them by their principal, e.g., pick-up/delivery of mail/packages to offsite meeting location, etc.
Drivers will ensure a comfortable and safe ride for the passengers
Drivers will ensure adequate communication with their principal and the Executive�s Administrative Assistant including changes in schedule.
Drivers will consult with the Head of Security EMEA before undertaking any assignment that could pass through an area of potential safety or security risk
Drivers will use appropriate evasive and/or defensive driving tactics as necessary in order to safeguard passengers.
Drivers will regularly alter daily commuting routes to identify and/or thwart any possible malicious targeting of passengers.
Drivers will communicate with principal regarding best/safest pick-up spot at offsite meeting locations, estimated time of pick-up, etc. Discuss/establish secondary pick-up point in the event that the primary pick-up location is compromised. Whenever practical, drivers should "advance" the drop-off location to familiarize themselves with conditions that could impact the safety or timely arrival of the executive to the location, e.g., construction, planned demonstration requiring closing of street, etc.
