CPO - International, Short term assignments

Location: Global

You will be responsible for risk management, security planning as well as management and implementation of all security related activities within your assigned project. On daily basis this could mean assessing and minimising risks, planning routes, checking vehicles, venues and grounds, keeping watch and being alert to danger as well as dealing with conflict.

You will be working in a team environment where you are expected to display excellent interpersonal skills where personal integrity is all-important, and you will place the very highest importance on safety – for your clients, for your colleagues and for yourself. Personnel Protection specialist

Provide counter surveillance/surveillance detection associated with the protection of designated persons, perform point and area security operations, conduct movement and evacuations of designated persons, and be able to operate along the continuum of force on an “as required” basis.

• Providing armed, and unarmed protective security, as directed, to designated person(s).
• Conducting surveillance detection and counter surveillance activities.
• Drive company-owned vehicle in the course of performing the above duties.

The job entails close protection duties in a high risk environment with low-profile mixed expatriate and local national teams. The positions are on a rotational schedule with 9 weeks on and 3 weeks off. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:

Perform close protection services according to  Standard Operating Procedures with duty in Security Advance Party, Close Protection Team, Counter Assault Team as operator and/or driver.
Support the Client’s security team assisting in perimeter defense and evacuation as needed according to established procedures.

Responsibilities

Within delegated authority and under the direct supervision of the Close Protection Team Leader, the Close Protection Officer will carry out the following duties:
• Conducts close protection operations for Senior UN Officials;
• Remains within the proximity of the Senior UN Officials at all times and implements mitigating measures to preserve his/her security, safety and wellbeing;
• Remains vigilant and alert in case of threat to the Senior UN Officials;
• Maintains effective and efficient security coverage for the working office and when assigned at the personal residence of the Senior UN Officials;
• Conducts close protection operations as outlined in the UN close protection policies and guidelines;
• Coordinates activities with relevant parties including other appropriate security organizations as required;
