And Cisco is leading the experienceThe GPS Manager, Grade Level 10, is responsible for assisting in providing personnel protective measures for Cisco Systems employees, vendors and guests, as directed.

Primary areas of responsibility include:
• Proactive monitoring, assessment and formal reporting (e.g. Travel Advisories, Briefs, Presentations, etc…) of developing situations on a global basis which may pose a potential threat to Cisco’s business and personnel.
• Personnel Protection, including Executive Protection, for employees traveling to “at-risk” destinations and / or with higher risk profiles.
• Event Security Management for corporate events to ensure for the safety and security of employees, vendors and attendees, as well as drive cost reductions from third party contract vendors.
• Partner in managing Work Place Civility (WPC) cases at the request of Human Resources / Employee Relations.
• Represent Global Protective Services during Local Incident Management Team (LIMT) activations in the Americas Region.
• Utilization of investigative methodology of “observation, communication, documentation and follow up”.
• Proficient use of Cisco Internal Tracking Engine (CITE), a proprietary incident report database, and maintain hard copy back up files.

Secondary areas of responsibility include:
• Assist with the Technical Surveillance Counter Measures (TSCM) program.
• Utilization of Microsoft Office to generate thorough and concise quarterly reports on Global Protective Services activities.
• Additional core services that are maintained and administered by Global Protective Services at the discretion of the Senior Director or designate, to include but not limited to Emerging Business Due Diligence and Executive Requests.

Minimum Required Skills and/or Abilities:

• Baccalaureate Degree in Criminal Justice, Political Science, History or Business Administration from an accredited College or University and/or the equivalent tenure in a Corporate Protective Detail or Security related environment
• 5 plus years of law enforcement and/or military experience and/or the equivalent tenure in a Corporate Protective Detail or Security related environment
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and Power Point)
• Proven experience managing electronic and hardcopy filing systems
• Proven experience working internationally as an expatriate (known at Cisco as International Assignee) or traveling on business internationally
• Able to conduct thorough briefings for large and small groups; Must have effective verbal and written communication skills; Language skills a plus
• Proficient in searching web based sources (internal and external) to identify critical information
• Proven networking experience with local, state, federal and international law enforcement agencies
• Able to stand continuously for long periods of time in support of Corporate Events and Protective Services assignments
• Possess a current / valid passport; Able to obtain an additional passport if required
• Be willing to travel globally in support of the business assignments at the discretion of the Senior Director or designate
• Possess a valid driver’s license (International, State, etc.)
• Ability to obtain a valid California driver’s license if the position resides in San Jose, CA
• Employee must be willing to live and work in the pre-determined location chosen by the Senior Director
• Must have the ability to work successfully and meet the initiatives without close supervision
• Current certification for First Aid (First Responder) and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Ability to interact effectively with internal partners (Global Travel, Safety & Security, Corporate Event Marketing, Cisco Security Programs Organization, Tactical Operations, etc.)
