SecurityRecruiter.com has been engaged by a long-term client to locate a corporate physical security manager who speaks fluent English, Mandarin Chinese and has significant experience working in China.

This position reports to the Global Issues Manager with a matrix reporting relationship to the regional business lead in China. This position is responsible for supporting the functions of Global Security for the geographic region of North Asia (China, Korea, Japan, and Taiwan) while acting as the security advisor to the regional leadership team. The position is located in Beijing.

As a member of the Global Security Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of programs and systems designed by Global Security to provide protection to both employees and assets. The work of Global Security Managers falls into five core competency areas: Program Management, Intelligence Issues, Conducting Investigations, Protecting Assets and Protecting People.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Implementing policies and procedures related to security operations in China, Korea, Japan and Taiwan.
• Coordinating security investigations and measures with Joint Venture and other business partners
• Designing and implementing strategies to protect intellectual property (IP) to include physical material, written communications and data, and information stored and transmitted digitally.
• Developing business continuity and crisis response plans
• The physical security for all personnel and facilities located in China, Korea, Japan and Taiwan.
• Conducting security vulnerability assessments of Operations and Facilities
• Conducting, managing and coordinating investigations in conjunction with other business units.
• The Business Conduct Team and law enforcement authorities
• Preparing well documented security assessment and investigative reports.
• Overseeing the budget and expenditures of the above areas of responsibility.
• Establishing and maintaining liaison with the law enforcement and security leadership communities
• Establishing training and security programs for employees.
• Maintaining liaison with and providing professional consultation to executive leadership.
• Coordinating and overseeing third party guard force contracts.
• Managing and mentoring subordinate security personnel in China, Korea, Japan and Taiwan.
• Collecting and disseminating intelligence related to criminal exploits, activists or other matters relating to the security and well being of the company and employees.
• Providing direct involvement with executive protection movements as a representative of the Global Security department participating in the advance preparations, protection responsibilities in proximity to the designated company officer.
• Other duties necessitated by prevailing security conditions and situations.

Requires:
• The successful candidate will have a BA/BS degree. A Masters or other advanced degree is appreciated.
• No less than 10 years of experience as a law enforcement agent with a state, federal or international law enforcement organization or commensurate corporate security experience is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to prepare documentation for submission to corporate leadership or government agencies without supervision.
• Verbal and written proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese are required.
• This position will require extensive international travel. Internal travel experience as an adult is required.
• Knowledge of concepts regarding intellectual property rights and protection.
• Must demonstrate experience in evaluating and implementing physical asset protection.
• Experience in evaluating and implementing IT Infrastructure and digital information security.
• Experience in conducting and managing complex criminal and civil investigations.
• Experience in conducting witness, victim and suspect interviews.
• The ability to prepare clear and succinct written communications.
• Significant people management experience.
• Experience in conflict resolution, workplace violence, negotiations, threat analysis and developing risk analysis of human behavior.
• The ability to work under pressure in stressful, high profile and sensitive situations.
• Experience in executive protection including protection surveys and advance preparations is desirable.
