Regional Security Manager , China

The primary purpose of this position is to support all security and fire protection activities for assigned countries within the GM International operations and to mentor and develop GM security operations personnel within the region. The position reports to the Vice President, Human Resources, GM International Operations, and functionally reports to the Director, Global Security Operations.

- Support daily security and fire protection needs for local operations within the assigned countries by developing excellent working relationships with local security leaders and business unit leaders.
- Consult with business unit customers to ensure they are satisfied with security service delivery and cost.
- Support the local implementation of corporate security policies within the assigned countries.
- Identify risk and implement protective measures to reduce identified risks.
- Initiate continuous improvement activities to ensure quality and cost-effective security and fire services.
- Provide quality assurance for purchased security and fire protection services.
- Support the Global Security Investigations team with security investigations if requested.
- Ensure implementation and execution of local emergency response plans through support for the local Emergency Response Coordinating Teams.

- Support the development and implementation of crisis management plans, as needed.

- Manage the reporting of metrics for quality, cost, incidents, etc.

- Ensure common global processes are implemented and best practices are shared.

- Inform the GMIO and Global Security leaders regarding security and fire related incidents and activities.

- Communicate regularly with other Global Security managers regarding overall responsibilities.

Knowledge:

 Working knowledge of processes related to security such as:
o travel security

o quality assurance for purchased services.

- Experience working in a multi-national environment with travel experience across a broad range of countries, preferably continents.
- Proficient in verbal and written English language skills (required).
- Proficient with office software and electronic mail (required).
- Ability to travel locally and internationally as needed (required).

Qualifications
Experience/Education:

- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, college or equivalent formal education (required) or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree in security, criminal justice, or fire protection (preferred).
- Master’s Degree in Security Administration, Business Administration, or similar field (preferred)
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the security field or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a large security organization
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience with a multinational company with multinational responsibilities (preferred)
- Experience with consistent and effective communication at the highest level of the assigned business units, including personal security briefings with the top executives of the assigned business units (required).
