** NOTE:
Full performance level of this position is FSN-5. Incumbent will be hired in the FSN-04
‘Developmental level’ and can be promoted to full performance level, FSN-05 after successfully
completingone year at FSN-4.

The U.S.  Embassy in Kabulis seeking individuals  for the position of Bodyguard with the Regional Security Office (RSO) based in Kabul

Basic Function Position:
Under the authority of the Regional Security Office, the incumbent provides Protective Security (PRS) for official U.S. Embassy Kabul Chief of Mission (COM) personnel, and other visiting USG personnel as
directed under COM authority.

Qualifications Required.
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and
comprehensive information supporting each item.
Education: Completion of secondary (high) school is required.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a guard, police member or military personnel.

Language: Level 2(fair working knowledge) speaking/reading in English and level 4 fluent)
speaking/reading in Dari and Pashto languages is required.
Knowledge :Applicant should understand the concepts of: use of force, deadly versus lethal force, standard operating procedures, chain of command, as well as working within a team.
Abilities and Skills:
Requires a valid driver’s license
Physical fitness  and how to properly execute firearm techniques with respect to pistols as well as automatic rifles, continually lift equipment weight approximately 50 lbs., repetitively through an 8 hour shift, running, reacting at a moment’s notice, standing for long periods of time with little or no breaks, and drive armored vehicles while serving in a driver/bodyguard capacity. Body Guard will carry special protective equipment assigned weapons.

SELECTION PROCESS
When fully qualified, U.S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S. Veterans are given
preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate specifically address the required qualifications above in the application.
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining
successful candidacy.
2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3. Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs
Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
4. Currently employed U.S. Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to
