Corporate Security Manager

Job Description
The Security Manager is responsible for security operations at the 200 N Milwaukee East Entrance and distribution center (CDC), including management, scheduling and oversight of security personnel. This position coordinates with contract security companies for additional security services.

Key Areas of Responsibility
Manage a team of Security Supervisors, including performance management, training, coaching and development.
Ensure department maintains compliance with all departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
Support Safety Manager and Safety Administrator and programs including but not limited to: participation with safety committee, emergency evacuation drills, coordination of safety training for security coworkers, etc.
Manage all in-house security coworker certifications through PSTN training program.
Reconcile all contract related invoices on a timely basis to ensure that vendors are paid on time; approve and coordinate all other invoices related to this area.
Urgently respond to emergency situations such as a fire, civil disturbance, bomb threat, explosion, flood, workplace violence, and other similar types of business interruptions covered in the company’s Business Continuity Program (BCP) at the appropriate level.

Responsibilities
Identify and implement additional training programs for security personnel.
Maintain training documentation for assigned security team.
Identify and develop improved methods of providing security services to customers on the dock, in the warehouse, at the entry and exit doors, and all other areas as assigned.
Prepare monthly rating system and meet with the contract security company to communicate grade and rating; use this system to improve overall service.
Maintain knowledge and current application of advancements in industry standards and technology.
Identifies and develops plans to provide reduction or elimination of risks to assigned business activities.
Maintain all testing and training documentation for outside audits and reviews such as ISO 9000 ISO 14001.
Develop relationships across CDW, as needed, to ensure positive results.
Assist Director of Security on various security, loss prevention, and safety issues, including investigations, as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or Security Administration or related field.
5 years supervisory experience.

Other Required Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Demonstrated ability to make quick and sound decision making in an emergency.
History of maintaining confidentiality in working with private and sensitive information.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Working knowledge with security hardware and software.
Strong attention to detail.
Proven negotiation skills.
History of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree
Board certified in security management (CPP) designation
