Job Description
Under minimum supervision, monitors and patrols assigned areas to observe and protect family members and family owned property while adhering to all established Company and department policies and procedures.

Essential Functions
• Monitors vehicle traffic entering and leaving assigned area. Identifies all suspicious vehicles and identifies operators of the vehicles.
• Monitors pedestrian traffic entering and leaving assigned area. Stops suspicious persons and obtains identification.
• Utilizes lethal and/or non-lethal force, if necessary, and when legally justified to protect principal(s).
• Reports all security related activity for assigned area. Notifies Security Supervisor or authorities when needed.
• Provides excellent customer service while on mobile patrol, at fixed posts or during special events.
• Provides security services for special Company and family related functions when required.
• Investigates all security and safety related accidents and incidents. Documents the information on the appropriate incident form. Notifies a supervisor on duty if necessary.
• Drives family owned vehicles and transports family members when assigned. Performs special security or safety related services when assigned by Security Management.
• Communicates professionally, respectfully and tactfully in both written and oral forms in order to establish and maintain effective relationships in the performance of required duties.
• Exercises discretion in dealing with confidential information.
• Accommodate reasonable requests of the principle(s).
• Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.
• Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED plus 3 years of sworn law enforcement experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or High School diploma or GED plus 6 years combined experience in a sworn law enforcement position, military and security reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
• A background which would not preclude a security clearance from being granted.
• Required to maintain a valid California Driver’s license and acceptable DMV record.
• Required to work nights, weekends and holidays as part of a rotating shift (day, swing, and graveyard shifts).
• Experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Experience writing routine reports and correspondence. Experience speaking effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Experience following instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Experience resolving routine questions and problems; referring the more complex issues supervisor.
• Experience working independently.
• Required to work overtime when necessary.
• Fluent in English (includes reading, writing and speaking).
• Required to comply with Security department dress code policy.
• Required to lift up to 50 pounds and drag or move up to 100 pounds.
• Required to have the physical ability to protect the principal.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Associates Degree.
• Knowledge of security systems and equipment in a business environment.
• Experience working with all levels and functions within the Company.
• Experience with MS Word.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
• Within the first week of employment, must successfully complete a course of instruction to obtain and maintain a Guard Card from the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services.
• Required to maintain a Concealed Weapons permit; and an Exposed Weapons permit from the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services.
• Required to maintain current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
• Required to complete Advanced Taser training.
• Required to complete Emergency Vehicle Operation course (EVOC).
• Required to complete workplace violence practicum.

Must have eyesight correctable to 20/20 vision with peripheral vision.
