Overview
Protecting Visa staff and safeguarding company facilities all over the world are the principal priorities of Global Security and Safety (GSS). Position Summary
The Security Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting the Chief Executive Officer and other Executives as needed. The Security Driver demonstrates discretion in all matters related to the assignment, including exposure to confidential information while performing duties related to the position. The position manages maintenance and administration for assigned vehicle. The candidate will perform other duties as directed by Global Security & Safety Business Leaders (e.g. travel security program, mailroom safety program). The position requires the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across a wide variety of business units, including clear, articulate public speaking abilities. Specific testing and basic training will be provided for selected candidates

Special Considerations
Please note the position is to be a full time employee, however, the driver assignment is considered part time (approximately 70-80%). When not providing driving services, the candidate will perform other duties as needed. On occasion a workday can consist of 12 hours, including irregular hours, holidays and weekend responsibilities. Candidate must have the ability to obtain certification in American Red Cross Standard First Aid, CPR and AED techniques.

Position Details
Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
-Advances routes to be followed and alternates. Performs and documents route surveys, identifying safe havens and emergency resources and “choke points.” Monitors traffic and weather and mitigates impact accordingly
-Able to successfully complete security tasks as needed (e.g. monitor local activist threats and appropriately alter routes to minimize impact to stakeholders)
-Maintains and operates communications devices, emergency response and contingency equipment, including fire extinguisher, flares or reflectors, chains, shovel, blankets, survival supplies, defensive and diversionary devices
-Learns and practices surveillance detection and pre-attack recognition and avoidance skills
-Greets passengers and assists them in entering and leaving the vehicle. May assist with baggage handling and with umbrella in foul weather
-Maintains automobile in clean, polished, flawless operating condition
-Visually inspects and manually tests vehicle pre-departure and before accepting passengers. Employs vehicle bomb-search protocol when necessary
-Responds to medical emergencies affecting passengers en route
-Drives during irregular hours in daylight and nighttime hours; may be required to stay overnight on extended trips
-Interacts effectively with executive staff, security and executive protection personnel and managers. Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills and interface credibly with employees as well as executives
-Take on special projects and/or additional duties as requested
-Liaise with public and private sector counterparts as appropriate

Required Qualifications
-Law Enforcement, security or military experience with knowledge of non-lethal defensive skills
-Advanced training in Security Operations with a proven ability to solve practical problems and react quickly and calmly to emergency circumstances
-Extensive knowledge of the Peninsula and San Francisco Bay Area with extensive knowledge of streets, roads, rail stations and airports. Ability to read/understand roadmaps and obey all traffic laws and speed limits
-Ability to adapt to changing priorities, be diligent and on-time for transport duties and work with minimal guidance
-Exceptional driving skills, with possession of and ability to maintain a valid California driver’s license and a safe driving record, reviewed annually.
-Have ability to sit and stand for long periods and to lift up to 75 pounds
-Close and distance vision corrected to 20/20 in both eyes; normal night, color and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception
-Able to speak clearly in English and to hear and understand normal conversation, unusual vehicle sounds, horns, sirens and other ordinary traffic sounds and warnings
-Able to read and understand rules, operating and maintenance manuals, company procedures and customary travel documents in English
-Superior physical fitness or overall health and reaction times
-High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred

Preferred Qualifications
- These skills and qualities enhance the ability of the security driver to succeed:
- Fluent knowledge of MS Office productivity software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Capable to efficiently use existing internet resources and creative to find new ones
- Ability to read, write and speak one or more languages other than English
- Certification as American Red Cross Medical First Responder or Emergency Medical Technician
- Courteous and accommodating attitude
- Moderate or no drinking of alcohol, and never within eight hours of a driving assignment
- Non-smoking, or never smokes in the car or in the presence of passengers. Candidate will not use chewing tobacco (or other “smokeless” tobacco products) in the presence of passengers or in the car at any time
