Role Responsibility:

In line with our core values the responsibilities undertaken within this role, but not limited to are as follows;
Responsibility for overall management of all vehicles owned and operated by G4S
Facilitate maintenance of all vehicles
Provide advice to the business on vehicle safety, duty of care and OH&S
Drive G4S’s ongoing commitment to corporate responsibility and sustainability through all fleet and asset management-related activities;
Manage the procurement process of all items required within the Manus Island Regional Processing Centre
Deliver procurement savings through the selection of preferred suppliers and entering into preferred supplier agreements
Work closely with internal stakeholders to manage the selection, procurement and distribution of uniforms
Supervise the day to day activities of logistics activities. This includes ensuring delivery of agreed service goals and objectives in accordance with defined processes and procedures
Develop and implement processes and procedures necessary for continuous improvement, so that the logistics & procurement function develops its capacity and capability as measured by the effectiveness of resources
Be responsible for meeting Key Performance Indicator (KPI) objectives for area of responsibility
Monitor inventory levels and maintain levels across the contract
Stock and retrieve equipment whilst accurately reconciling stock
Receive and verify deliveries of returned faulty items and record appropriately
Daily clean up of shipping and receiving areas
Other duties as assigned by the General Manager
Ensure that compliance requirements are met, actively participating in a culture of compliance
Adhere to all safe working procedures in accordance with instructions
Take reasonable care of yourself and others who may be affected by your actions

In order to carry out the position of Safety and Security Escort Officer successfully you will ideally possess the following skills, qualifications and experience;
Ability to deal objectively and effectively with transferees on an individual or group basis, regardless of their nationality, religion, culture, age, sexual preference or gender
An understanding of transferees’ circumstances and the stress and anxiety they may be experiencing
Ability to supervise and monitor transferees effectively, but unobtrusively, with confidence and compassion
Good written and spoken communication skills
Sound computer skills, including ability to learn control room operations and SAMIS
Willingness to contribute to the development of the workplace in a constructive and genuinely enthusiastic manner
Demonstrated flexibility, sensitivity and resilience in a high pressure and changing work environment
Good organisational and logistics skills, focused on service delivery aligned with contractual requirements
Willingness and capacity to uphold and promote the G4S Code of Conduct and to exemplify the company’s core values
Ability to work 12 hour shifts, on a rotating roster incorporating work during the day, night and weekends. Roster provisions include a maximum of five consecutive shifts, maximum 4 consecutive night shifts, and minimum two consecutive shifts
Satisfactory results of a pre-employment medical examination to determine suitability for employment in the role of a Safety and Security Officer
To adhere to the pre-medical plan which include vaccinations prior and during commencement of employment
Satisfactory results of an Australian Federal Police background check both upon employment and annually thereafter
