We are looking for a highly qualified candidate to manage the protection department in Tripoli
Who are we?
DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a
combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices
throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in
Jordan.

Since May 2011, DRC has been actively involved in the Lebanon emergency response to the
Syrian crisis with presence in the North, East (Bekaa valley) and South of Lebanon. The DRC
response is designed around 4 major sectors: Food/NFI distribution, Protection, Shelter and
Livelihood support. As such, DRC is positioned in Lebanon as a main implementing partner of
UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP, ECHO and DANIDA, implying a rapid expansion of its programme and
structure.

Duties:
The Protection Manager has the overall responsibility for leading, coordinating and overseeing DRC
protection activities in Tripoli
• Represents DRC Protection before relevant donors and implementing partners at field level
• Responsible of the implementation and coordination of protection activities
• Manages and capacity builds the protection team in his/her AoR
• Reports and plans protection activities
• Provide support and training to local NGO’s that are DRC implementing partners

About you
To be successful in this role you must have at least 4 years of international experience in protection
and management of staff, in addition to being fluent in English (both written and verbal)

We offer

months, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work
from the 01st of April 2014 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli.
