The Corporate Security Specialist is part of the Risk Management organization and provides comprehensive protective security for the corporation’s executives and employees. The Corporate Security Specialist will be a proactive business partner of senior and local management sharing responsibility for the security and protection of the company's employees, facilities and assets. This position will also be responsible for putting in place policies and programs consistent with corporate security best practices Additionally, this position will direct the design and implementation of cost effective security systems, and provide training and consulting services on a proactive basis. The protection of facilities and assets will include the Company's, generation assets as well as its transmission and distribution assets. The Corporate Security Specialist will work with state and national security entities to ensure protection of the corporation’s security interests.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Provides protective escort and accompanies the designated executives on movements.

Will travel with executives to domestic and international business meetings and other functions.
Provides security threat assessment while reviewing the daily schedule and projected travel itinerary of executives to identify potential security and safety related issues.
Conducts reconnaissance of locations to be visited by executives.
Performs logistical support for executives’ movements by coordinating with hosts, staff, drivers and others.
Coordinates planning and execution for visiting dignitaries and executives from other organizations.
Participates in physical security programs to include physical at corporate facilities, corporate aircraft, special events, ground and air transportation and special projects.
Initiates emergency-response actions in the event of crises, emergencies or threats to the principal.
Assists Risk Management as necessary to perform due diligence on individuals who will meet with corporate executives.

Required qualifications:
BA/BS Minimum of 10 years' experience including strategic oversight of one or more of the following areas: corporate security, executive protection or investigations.
Experience working for the FBI, Secret Service, Department of State, U.S. Military and or state and/or local law enforcement desired.
Experience designing and implementing security technology infrastructure. Experience working in a large corporation.
Experience in creating security compliance policies and procedures and administering such regulations company wide.
Candidates must maintain themselves in excellent physical condition and must be able to work comfortably in a team environment as well as collaborate and communicate peer to peer and at the executive level of the company.
Candidates must have attended specialized training in tactical driving, self-defense, certification in First Aid/CPR, defibrillator usage and first responder medicine.
Applicants must be prepared for domestic and overseas travel and be able to pass a company background check.
Candidates must have a clean driver’s license record.
Candidates should have superb writing and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively and seamlessly with corporate executives and senior colleagues in business and social environments, a college degree is preferred.
Candidates must work with Risk Management and the office of the CEO to establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives and deliverables.
