Job Description
SECURITY ESCORT TEAM (SET) DEPUTY TEAM LEADER / MEDIC (US SECRET Clearance required) PURPOSE OF ROLE The role of the Security Escort Team (SET) Deputy Team Leader / Medic is to support the Team Leader (TL) in order to provide the link between the TL and the remainder of the team, in addition to providing the medical support to the client and team during their rotation. Provide general medical care, emergency medical care (when required); conduct training to ensure the team remains medically trained and revised to the standards as laid down by the Olive Group Operations Manager and Olive Group Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). They will also supervise and conduct team administrative duties as directed by the TL.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Liaises with and reports directly to the TL on a daily basis. Responsible for understanding all Olive Group SOPs, and the operational parameters in which the team operate. Must be fully conversant with the Project CONOP and the methodology employed by Olive Group in executing their operational duties. In consultation with the TL, he is dually responsible for ensuring the team fully understand and remain compliant with the Rules for the Use of Force (RUF) and Graduated Force Response (GFR). Assists in the planning and execution of missions as directed by the TL. Liaison with Medical Services as required.
ADDITIONAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be prepared to assume the role of TL when required. Responsible for delivering detailed Medical Lessons to team members. Understand project specific compliancy protocols. Dually responsible with the TL for vehicle maintenance oversight. Dually responsible for constant quality assurance and control of the SET members throughout the mission/task. Must understand the need to comply with all Iraqi Police and Iraqi Army directives whilst operating out on the ground and that Olive Group’s policies, plans and procedures are adhered to. Responsible for check navigation of all road movements conducted by the team. Responsible for ensuring all medical issued equipment is working, serviceable and in date. Responsible for ensuring communications checks are conducting prior to mission commencement. Responsible for maintaining the communications link with the Olive Group Operation Room during the mission with an understanding of a contingency back up plan in the event of communications breakdown.
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS:
Must hold active Secret Clearance Must have served minimum 5 years in the Armed Forces Previous operational and close protection experience in Iraq is desirable Must hold EMT-Basic qualification or be an Army Combat Lifesaver equivalent trained assistant Ability to draft detailed and accurate medical reports. Be able to articulate facts in a timely and accurate manner both orally and written. Proven medical operational experience in a demanding high risk environment is essential. Needs to show balance and a calm demeanor in the event of a hostile action occurring. Understanding of the need for liaison and interaction with Host Nation Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies. Ability to demonstrate a high level of initiative and accuracy in high pressure situations. Ability to identify and react to security issues of significance to the clients when on the ground. Understanding diversity and cultural issues within the team and on sites within the area of operations in line with Olive Groups Code of Conduct KEY COMPETENCIES: IT Literate in Word, and have a working knowledge in PowerPoint and Excel. Possess a full understanding and working knowledge of the communication systems in operation. Fully cognizant on all Olive Group Iraq SOP, Project specific SOP’s, Olive Group Policy and directives and Host Nation law. Possess good radio and voice procedure. Posses an experienced based knowledge of training procedures in order to maintain the effectiveness and compliance of his team in trauma management.
