Under the direction of the Director of Fire and Safety/Security, providing transportation for hospital executives to and from various offsite locations in a courteous, safe and expeditious manner. Maintains, cleans and services the hospital owned vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition. During down time supplements the Security Team ensuring the safety, security and welfare of patients, visitors and personnel at the Hospital, as well as provides protection for the physical structure, property and equipment owned/controlled by the Hospital.
Education/Experience:
· Previous professional driving experience preferred
· Valid Driver’s License with clean record
· TLC and/or CDL license with passenger endorsement a PLUS but not required
· Knowledge of Roadways in Lower NY, Long Island & NYC
· Excellent grooming, hygiene and proper dress required.
· Calm, rational behavior and attitude under stressful driving conditions are attributes of a professional, as are refraining from inappropriate or abusive language and gestures
· Ability to follow instructions and requests without argument, complaint, or comment. No engagement in hospital business related conversations of executives or passengers without permission.
· High School Diploma or equivalent required.
· Law enforcement/Security experience desirable
· New York State Security Guard registration required or active NYS police officer.
· Minimum age of 25 years old due to insurance regulation
