Description
Our client is a Government organisation driving a key political issue on behalf of the Commonwealth. They are a dynamic, rapidly changing organisation with a talented and outcomes focussed team. They require the services of an experienced Security Advisor to provide for the strategic objectives of the organisation with regards to security, protection, and risk management.

For a security advisory professional it represents a significant professional challenge, one that will allow you to grow your skills set and one that will stretch you to the EL1 level and beyond. The role is initially for 12 months with view to significant extensions.

Your key duties would be to:
Lead the development and implementation of practical strategies for effective policy development, governance, auditing, risk management and compliance with legislative requirements within the Security team, specifically to ensure the agency meets the mandatory requirements of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF)
Provide strategic direction to senior executives on the delivery of security requirements, both immediate and long term and contribute to the management of the Security budget to ensure strategic plans and directions are affordable and achievable
Conduct risk reviews due to changing business requirements and emerging risks
Work with the Security Manager to develop and deliver security awareness training and programs

The successful candidate will be comfortable in situations requiring negotiation, and have well-developed problem solving and analytical skills. The ability to establish, maintain and enhance stakeholder relationships, along with the promoting and cultivating innovative organisational change is imperative for the incumbent of this position.
