The Executive Protection Professional will be part of the NBS organization. The core responsibilities for this role include the following:

Provide security and investigative services as required to support the mission of the assigned Novartis executive and Global Security. The Executive Protection (EP) Professional has the principle role of providing safe and secure journey management and personal protection for the executive (including security advice for residence and family) in addition to managing the planning and delivery of EP and journey management requirements for other Novartis Executive Committee/Board members (and other designated personnel as assigned). This individual will serve as the Security Driver for the assigned executive by providing safe, secure, and timely land transportation in the assigned area of operation. The role requires the individual to carry out security/travel risk analysis for the assigned executive while they are employed on company business, including a weekly Global EP risk assessment for ECN level personnel. Additionally the individual will conduct Global Security investigations as assigned by the Regional Head of Global Security in support of the Novartis Group’s misconduct reporting, product security, risk management and investigation framework.

Major Accountabilities:

For Executive Protection – Full lifestyle security planning and implementation.

Includes: advance reconnaissance; risk assessment and implementation of security controls; security driving; defensive driving; close protection; incident response and emergency planning; intelligence and threat-scanning; residential security (incl. family security) household and work contractor screening; technical counter surveillance measures; social media / internet vulnerabilities; security administration; multiple security stakeholder coordination; event / meeting security. For Investigations – management of assigned cross divisional/ cross functional Global Security investigations throughout the assigned region(s) as part of Novartis’ Corporate Governance response to internal fraud, corruption and other misconduct, and in order to counter pharmaceutical crime and preserve patient safety.

Minimum requirements A minimum of a BA/BS degree is strongly preferred. May consider equivalent experience.

Formal law enforcement, military or certified civilian security training/experience required. Advanced training/experience in personal protective services, close quarter protection, security driving,


1. Minimum of 5 years experience in full-time Executive Protection, 2 years of which should be in a corporate environment demonstrating knowledge of unarmed personal security (EP) fundamentals, concepts, and techniques.

2. Demonstrated experience in threat analysis and the development of Design Basis Threat (DBT) and / or Personal Security Vulnerability Assessments.

3. Demonstrated experience in event / meeting security.

4. Demonstrated experience in residential security protocols.

5. Demonstrated experience working with public sector officials while coordinating security for executives.

6. Experience in surveillance awareness, anti and counter-surveillance.

7. Demonstrated experience in planning and conducting investigations to evidential standard
