The Regional Security Manager is responsible for developing, promoting and maintaining a high level of security standards and “Best Practices” within the region by focusing on risk management and implementing strategic security programs.

Security is at the core of our QTS design and development process. As the subject matter expert for the region on physical security, this position shares and exemplifies the seriousness about security and our commitment to confidentiality. Supporting the security staff in region, this role supports teams who keep our Employees, Customers, and Assets safe while ensuring that the security of our world-class technologies / facilities is of paramount importance. Collaboration with our Facilities Management team to create innovative security strategies, investigate breaches and create risk assessment plans is critical. As Regional Security Manager reporting to the Site Director, there is a shared accountability with the Site Directors for the performance of the Security Ops Managers and teams who are managing employees, vendors, and guard force services while maintaining other close partnerships with cross-functional QTS teams.

The Regional Security Manager will be responsible for developing plans, policy, and procedures that provide a security presence and ensures that visitors, clients, and employees have a safe and pleasant experience while inside the facility, promoting goodwill and great public relations for customers. These plans will help deter and detect suspicious activities and watch for criminal acts or site infractions which may pose a threat to the property, client or employees at the site. This position will reside in either Suwanee, Atlanta Metro, or Miami.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.
Work with Site Management and local teams to coordinate all aspects of executing the security contract at the assigned locations
Develop and facilitate security education and motivation programs for employees at all levels.
Participate in scheduled meetings held by regional vice president and site managers. Teach and insist on the importance of being proactive by focusing on risk management and best practices and procedures in security.
Implement performance of datacenter security standards, policies and practices; manage the daily operations of the vendors providing services including security, life-safety systems, training and risk assessment; conduct investigations of Code of Conduct and other violations as needed.
Collaborate with other groups within QTS (Facilities Managers, Data Center Operations, etc.) and outside of QTS (Contractors, Emergency Services, etc.) as they relate to daily operations.
Develop security plans for on-site special events and other unique security situations to assure proper access control and evacuation procedures are followed.
Perform data analysis and create benchmarking to support risk assessments and threat identification.
Partner with Facilities and other QTS business units to identify safety and security deficiencies, and develop customized policies and procedures to gain compliance with regulations internal and external to QTS.
Coordinate site surveys and physical security requirements for the construction of new facilities. Review plans for renovating existing facilities to ensure compliance with security standards.
Train Ops Managers and assist to manage CAPEX, OPEX. Ability to assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual budget forecasting and manage organization within existing budget parameters
Implement standardized specifications for Access Control, Visitor Management, and CCTV system, coordinate upgrades where required.
Knowledge and familiarization with Local Emergency Response Action Plan and evacuation procedures, Develop and maintain working relationships with Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement as well as Fire and EMS
Participate in Sales Tours & Site Audits

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
Five or more years of experience managing security operations in a fast paced corporate environment
Five or more years of experience with security technologies including CCTV, Access Control, and Incident Management Systems, Security Operations Centers
One or more years of experience conducting investigations including criminal, human resources, and safety incidents
US Citizen
First Aid/CPR Certifications

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Protection Professional (CPP) preferable; must be able to obtain within 18 months of hire

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Excellent customer service skills
Travel in region and nationally is required (up to 25% annually)
Continuous Process Improvement experience
Proficient with computer skills
Proficient in Access Control Systems and related software
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; for the purpose of public interaction and report writing
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
Ability to handle typical emergency and crisis situations efficiently and effectively.
