Position Summary
The Manager, Global Security provides security management oversight at Hershey Company facilities globally. This individual will participate in department’s risk assessment, program prioritization, program/procedure development, and program/procedure implementation activities, including but not limited to crisis management, food defense, global supply chain security, global associates protection, security integration with operations, site assessments, investigations, workplace violence mitigation, and security training/education. This individual provides assistance to all corporate and division facilities and personnel regarding issues such as aberrant behavior or illegal/unethical acts either by employees or directed against the Corporation and/or its employees. Additionally, this individual performs daily administration functions including overseeing the contract security force account and maintaining knowledge of CCTV and access control systems.

Summary of major Duties/Responsibilities:

Provide security management and oversight for all manufacturing,retail, distribution, and office facilities and operations. Serve as security liaison to facility managers and the region’s leadership. Maintain and manage the company’s travel tracker management system. Assist with the Priority Alert message system. Ensure security programs, procedures, and processes are implemented globally and verify that appropriate measures are in place to provide adequate protection of company assets, personnel, product, and information. Identify significant security risks and potential mitigation measures, and provide this analysis to the Global Security Management team on an ongoing basis.
Assist with the design and implementation of specialized security programs in North America, serving as either primary or backup project manager. Programs may include, but are not limited to, Global Security Operations Center, Food Defense, Global Supply Chain Security, Crisis Management, Business Continuity, Global Associates Protection, Anti-Counterfeiting, Security Integration with Operations, Workplace Violence Mitigation Training, Ethics, Retail Operations, Risk Assessment, Security Infrastructure Enterprise Design, Contract Security Quality Assurance, M&A Support, Innovation Risk Analysis Support, Security Website Design, Fraud Mitigation, Business Intelligence & Monitoring, Investigations, Site Assessment, Information Protection, and Department Process Documentation.
Incumbent must be an exceptional communicator and routinely coordinate and interact at the director and facility leadership levels. Will be involved in highly sensitive investigative cases and work very closely with multiple departments and personnel throughout the handling and management of an incident investigation; to include monitoring and responding appropriately to information received via Hershey “Concern Line” program. Assist in confidential investigations of illegal/unethical behavior. Ensure that all investigations are conducted in compliance with the appropriate statutes pertaining to criminal, civil and privacy issues.
Interface regularly within the professional security community, government officials, key vendors and law enforcement agencies both locally and in the region. Provide Board of Directors support at meetings in and away from Hershey area. Lead and implement the Global Security plan for various events and meetings.


Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required:
• Program development and project management skills, including the ability to design and implement complex security programs spanning multiple business units and functions.

• Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively work at all levels of the Company from the CEO to the hourly line employee. Must be able to interface with senior Company leadership at the level of the Director, Security.

• Ability to exercise initiative, be self-directed, manage time and multiple priorities.

• Maintain confidentiality.

• Extensive experience with key security skills and abilities, including but not limited to, corporate investigations, physical security, food defense, executive protection, risk analysis, compliance and emergency management.

• Experience with domestic and international threat monitoring and analysis, including data retrieval and analysis from DHS, FEMA, US State Department (or their international equivalents), and other public and private resources.

• Effective interaction with business managers from North American, Latin American, Asian, and East European cultures.



Minimum Education/Experience:

Education: Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) from a four year college or university or equivalent experience. Masters and/or CPP preferred.


Experience: Five years of investigative experience, or 10+ years of experience with a major law enforcement, Intelligence, military force, or corporate security. Four or more years of security management experience with a large, multi-national company preferred. Strong liaison skills required.
