Personal Security Detail Team Leader, Iraq

Location: Iraq

The Team Leader (TL) are the commanders of a Personal Security Detail (PSD) Team. The TL is to Command and control the PSD and ensure all team members are adequately briefed, skilled, equipped and supervised to conduct their duties safely in compliance with Host Nation’s rules and regulations, URG policies, SOP and contractual obligations as well as the applicable Safety Management Systems (SMS).

Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring operational planning and conduct is in accordance with detailed URG Standard Operating Procedures and relevant Host Nation’s rules and regulations are followed at all times. Gather and analyse information / intelligence required for the planning, rehearsal and safe execution of a PSD mission. Submit, in time, the required documentation for the approval of PSD missions according to URG SOPs and the Host Nation’s rules and regulations. Build and develop client relationships to achieve customer focus Liaise/meet with the client in an appropriate manner. Prepare and conduct briefings to PSD team members, client(s) and management during the planning and execution of a PSD mission. Execute any other tasks commensurate to the PSD TL’s role as deemed appropriate by the Security Project Manager (SPM) or Operations Security Manager. Report all incidents according to the URG and the Host Nation’s rules and regulations, policy and SOPs.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the PSD. Where appropriate escalate these to URG management for visibility. Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise PSD team members, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work. Deliver team training in accordance with direction from the SPM and OPSM. Responsible for testing team members and ensuring operational readiness, including training and task planning duties. Plan, coordinate, administrate and execute the day to day team administration and training. Accurately compile and on time submit the required PSD team returns. Maintain a high standard of welfare, morale and discipline within the team. Liaise with the Operations, Nurse or Senior Medic regarding any special medical requirements.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience in Iraq in a similar role. Ability to communicate in Arabic.

Nationality Requirement
Australian preferred; UK, NZ, US permitted.

Security Clearance Requirement
Hold, or able to obtain, an Australian Government Negative Vetted Level 1 clearance (equivalent to ADF SECRET clearance) or national equivalent.
