SALARY: 
OR Ordinarily Resident (OR) – N3,591,291p.a. (Starting basic salary) Position Grade: FSN-6 In addition to the basic salary, all allowances will be paid in accordance with the Mission Local Compensation Plan. 

NOR – Not-Ordinarily Resident – AEFM – US$36,837 p.a. EFM/MOH – US$31,614 (Starting Salary) p.a.

The U.S. Consulate in Lagos is seeking to employ suitable and qualified candidates for the positions of Bodyguard (2 positions) in the Regional Security Office (RSO). BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION: Incumbent is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for the conduct of foreign policy. S/he is responsible for protecting Chief of Mission (COM) personnel and official visitors from physical harm and embarrassment. 


POSITION REQUIREMENTS: NOTE: All applicants MUST address each required qualification listed below with specific information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified. 1. Two (2) years of college or universities studies in Liberal Arts, Business or Social Sciences is required. 2. Minimum of two (2) years of providing close protection services is required. 3. Level III (Good working knowledge) Speaking /Reading/Writing in English is required. Language proficiency will be tested. Level IV (Fluent) of one Nigeria major languages (Yoruba, Hausa or Igbo) is required. 4. Must be familiar with Special Protective Equipment (SPE). 5. Must be able to maintain situational awareness and conduct surveillance detection to enhance post’s off-compound security posture.

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA 
1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy. 
2. Current OR employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply. Current OR employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report (EPR) are not eligible to apply. 
3. Current NOR employees hired on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Personal Service Agreement (PAS) are not eligible to apply within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless they have a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule. 
4. The candidate must be able to obtain and hold the local security certification after selection. 
5. Candidates who are EFMs, USEFMs, AEFMs, or MOHs must have at least one year remaining on their sponsor’s tour of duty to be considered eligible to apply for this position.
