Summary

A principal member of the team responsible for the safety and security of the President and CEO (“the executive”) while on official business both domestically and internationally and assisting others on the executive team as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the personal protection and safety of the executive during venue arrivals, meetings and events, departures, and while in-transit;
• Travel extensively (approximately 60% of the time) with the executive, on day and overnight trips, both domestically and internationally, continually monitoring security threats that may necessitate changes in departure;
• Conduct security checks of business/event sites prior to the executive’s visit;
• Maintain overall situational awareness of venues and event sites for any potential risks that may affect the executive (i.e. construction equipment, damaged/slippery walkways, media, crowds, law enforcement activity etc.) and takes appropriate action to mitigate the situation;
• Coordinate with business/event location security staff to ensure the personal protection and safety of the executive;
• Maintain working knowledge of frequent locations visited i.e. hotels, restaurants, airports, heliports, and points of interest to the executive’s business;
• Maintain working knowledge of emergency center locations;
• Maintain a business professional appearance at all times;
• Multitask with the ability to respond to a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
• Assist the executive team as needed to include carrying bags, serving refreshments, and performing personal errands as needed; and
• Assist in general building security matters

COMPETENCIES / ABILITIES

• Minimum 8 years' prior law enforcement and / or corporate security experience.
• Ability to legally possess and carry a firearm under the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) is preferred.
• Able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and some weekends.
• Must be highly organized, professional, and punctual with the ability to work independently and under pressure, while providing a high level of customer service; must have a consistently professional demeanor and be a good team player;
• Must be in excellent physical health in order to sustain long periods of sitting or standing, and occasional heavy lifting required;
• Must maintain strict confidentiality and situational sensitivity is a must;
• Must have current, valid driver’s license and U.S. passport

EDUCATION

• College degree preferred.
• Must be first aid/CPR Certified.
