International Security & Executive Services Manager

Primary Purpose:

Assures the safe, un-interrupted availability of security services for the protection and transportation of Sempra corporate officers, Board of Directors, Sempra utility and global business unit leaders, employees, as well as other Federal, State and Local dignitaries as deemed appropriate. Directs the Emergency Management, Business Resumption, and Headquarters Safety Program. This includes:
Mitigation, preparation, response and recovery efforts for Sempra HQ and its business units, through
creation of policy, procedure, best practices, training and implementation. Responsible for implementing and directing the travel security program for Sempra Corporate officers, Board of Directors, and employees.
This includes monitoring intelligence, producing travel security briefings, executive trip reports, coordinating for ground transportation in Mexico and Latin America, coordinating for security escorts (as necessary), and ensuring appropriate medical evacuation and response countermeasures are in place to deter, detect, delay, deny, and respond to possible and actual loss events.
Responsible for security of all special events, to include security planning, training, and operations at the annual shareholder meeting, off-site leadership meetings, ceremonies, and other high-profile/elevated-risk gatherings.
Collaborates with and supports security teams of the international business units to ensure incident reporting, compliance with policy and regulatory requirements, sharing of intelligence, and training.
Collaborates with other departments with mutual interests (e.g., Cyber Security, Travel, Human Resources, and Legal) to creatively provide value to Sempra employees through training, audits, investigations, and consultation.
Advocates on behalf of Sempra Corporate Security within relevant organizations such as OSAC, Infragard, academia, and regional task forces.
Supports other security managers during exigent circumstances.

Responsibilities / Duties:
Directs and supports three full-time and seven part-time executive security specialists located in the San Diego and Los Angeles areas to include scheduling, fleet maintenance, training, billing, payroll, and equipment management.
Directs and supports the full-time Emergency Management, Business Resumption and Safety Program advisor to include planning, training, billing, payroll, and equipment management.
Manages the Company’s Executive Security Program by monitoring intelligence, providing risk assessments, residential security audits, briefings, and reliable and safe transportation to senior Corporate Executives and Board Members. Also ensures safe transportation of employees to Sempra assets in Mexico.
Responsible for security of all special events, to include security planning, training, and operations at the annual shareholder meeting, off-site leadership meetings, ceremonies, and other high-profile/elevated-risk gatherings.

External Qualifications:

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in relevant area of study.
Master's degree preferred.
A minimum of 10 years’ experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public or private sector security organization, including foreign assignment experience.
Business operations experience.
Bilingual, English/Spanish intermediate reading, writing, speaking skills (3/3 or equivalent).
Intermediate/advanced communication skills including verbal, written and presentation.
Intermediate/advanced computer skills including MS Office applications.
Ability to travel overnight, including internationally.
Must have a valid driver’s license and passport.
