Job Summary:


Our Director of Security supports Harvard Protection in our goal of providing best in class security and life safety services. Our Security Directors are responsible for providing professional customer-focused security and life safety services for the people and the property they protect.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead by example
Ensure quality services are provided to meet customer expectations and contract requirements by regularly managing, directing, inspecting, training, coaching, mentoring, and leading security personnel assigned to the facility/building
Perform operations related functions to include; scheduling, overtime management, review of daily logs and incident reports, training and development of staff
Assist in monitoring and developing staff performance to include supervision, performance evaluations, disciplinary matters, training, scheduling, callouts, and assigning work
Maintain up to date and accurate timekeeping systems and records for staff
Provide recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those staff members under his/her direct supervision
Provide comprehensive management of day to day activities a variety of security, safety, customer service, public relations duties, and related functions specific to the portfolio of accounts they are assigned.
Provide immediate response to emergencies and issues that arise
Follow and coordinate established emergency response, action planning and procedures
Maintain 24 / 7 availability and to the customer account(s) assigned
Oversee the Business Continuity Program, while working in collaboration with teams to ensure the Disaster Recovery Program supports the business continuity requirements of the company and customer account(s)
Management of compliance and regulatory matters
Initiate preliminary investigations into incidents
Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, as required
Prepare required weekly, bi-weekly and monthly manager reports
Work with business development team to identify and source new business opportunities
Facilitate training for CPR/First Aid/AED and additional state, local certifications
Facilitate necessary connections between IT Department and front line staff
Facilitate payment of invoices with customer account(s)
Facilitate necessary maintenance and upkeep of vehicles
Procure and maintain uniforms and equipment in coordination with proper procedures
Foster and maintain professional working relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies
The essential duties and responsibilities may differ by customer location assigned
Knowledge and Skill Requirements

At least seven (7) years prior experience in law enforcement, to include at a supervisory level.
Licensed Security Officer (NYS)
Professional demeanor and proven diplomacy skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
Ability to effectively interact with diverse clients.
Strong oral and written communication skills and analytical problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of physical security equipment and technology including visitor management systems, electronic card access control systems, alarm systems, CCTV cameras, digital recorders and contract guard services.
Excellent interview and interrogation skills with the ability to assimilate information into a concise report, with findings and recommendations for resolution.
Knowledge of disciplines involved in Crisis Management, Response to Emergencies and Business Continuity.
Training in workplace violence, cultural diversity and case management.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal rules of criminal procedure, due process and evidence collection procedures.
Proficient organizational skills and knowledge of budget forecasting.
Adaptability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate building functions, investigations and special events.
Computer skill requirements to include Microsoft Office.




Compensation
Harvard Protection Services offers a competitive salary of $80,000 with health & welfare, dental, vision, life and long term disability (LTD) insurance, and 401K Savings Plan.
