Job Duties:
The CPO will manage the daily operations in all of its functions which will include but will not be limited to the below duties
Operate  as  a  member  of  a  Close  Protection  team providing  security  and  safety  for  EU Delegation staff and visitors, as allocated, whilst working outside the confines of the EU Delegation;
CPOs  rotate  through  posts  within  the  general  CP  teams,  the  HoD's  CP  team,  and  the Incident Response team in accordance with rosters designed by the CPS. (For information on the tasks of the Incident Response team, see paragraph 6.3.3);
Report  to  the  Close  Protection  Supervisor  for  operational  matters  and  contract  and administrative issues;
Ensures timely and accurate reporting of security incidents;
Ensures that he/she is fully briefed and trained for all duties and responsibilities and kept abreast of the latest developments locally. The CPO will be implement and rehearse all Standard Operating Procedures and Contingency Plans in accordance with the provisions of the contract and local legal requirements;

He/She ensures that all Close Protection team security equipment is complete, is up to date and well maintained;

Only candidates that meet and are able to demonstrate the below hiring criteria’s will be considered:
Possess a thorough  knowledge  of  the  country's  security  environment  with  recent  experience  in Afghanistan (within last 5 years) and preferably in Kabul;
All CPOs must possess an EU accredited Close Protection qualification;
All  CPOs  will  have  served  in  the  CP  role  in  a  high  risk  environment  for  a  minimum period of 3 years consecutively within the past 5 years, ideally in a similar international position   preferably   with   Diplomatic   Missions   or   Representations   of   International Organisations, attested by reference letters from current and/or former employers;
Military or police experience of 5 years.
Must be citizen of EU member state;
Proven knowledge of radio equipment and radio operational procedures;
English  according  to,  at  least,  level   B2   as   defined   in   the   standards   available   at http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/en/resources/european-language-levels-cefr;
Fully IT-literate in Word and Excel;
A high level of personal physical fitness, demonstrating maturity and composure under pressure in high risk environments;
Valid EU driving licence categories C, C1. Certified as B6 trained;
Excellent  knowledge  of  first  aid  and  trauma  care,  with  a  first  aid  qualification  (ideally First Person On the Scene "FPOS" qualified), to be proven through relevant certificates.
