Job Advert:
The Global Executive Protection Manager (EPM) role sits within the Intelligence, Security, Crisis & Continuity Management and has a global remit.



The role provides functional excellence in assuring, planning, developing, implementing and monitoring global and regional security strategies for security operations designed to protect assets (people, property, information, operational capability and reputation) against risk of injury, loss or damage from criminal, hostile or malicious acts across multiple business streams.

This role makes a valuable contribution to BP’s Security operations and interacts directly with the very highest level of leadership in BP.

Key Accountabilities

Internal Stakeholder Management - Provide direct mentoring and high level expertise and support across numerous functions and businesses in how BP manages risk and provides solutions to complex, and often delicate problems to its Executives and Events. Developing a close relationship built on trust and expertise directly with the CEO, Executives, Chairman, Respective Offices, Head of Country, Executive Events Team, Legal, IST, Head of Country, Business Managers, DSR, ISC.
External engagement on Best Practice: Establish close relationships with government, Law Enforcement and private sector sources, supporting expertise and best practice.
Executive Protection Governance - Lead the design and embed and deliver a global standardised and detailed security management process; assessing risk, ensuring that the appropriate security barriers are in place and effective in order to ensure the safety of the BP Executives, BP Board, Senior Leaders, Events, AGM, VIP’s, General Public and safeguarding the reputation of the company.
Security Management Expertise– Deliver strategic and tactical operational specialist security advice to the senior leaders and the line during Security Reviews, Investigations, UK CST Crisis Response Exercises, Clear Desk Process, Data Protection Requests.
Executive Protection/Events – Intelligence – Collect and analyse all-source intelligence to lead all aspects of the Executive Protection Programme, AGM and all sponsored BP Events.
Capability Building: Communications and Training: Develop and deliver Executive Protection and Event Security awareness, build cultural change starting with BP leadership across segments, with the outcome of improved capability and wider acceptance of the EP Programme across the company, increasing safety and reducing risk.
Resilience: Provide resilience to the Regional Security Advisors, ISC and Business Security Managers pertaining to issues from Risk Reviews, Assurance work, Investigations, New Country Entry (Journey Management Planning) Training Exercises.


Essential Education/Training

Close Protection Trained

Essential Experience and Skills
Credible experience at leading executive protection operations, both armed and unarmed across the globe.
Significant experience of providing security expertise to senior business leaders and internationally dispersed multi-discipline teams.
An accountable and trusted individual that has the ability to engage effectively and gain trust at a personal level, with the most senior leaders of the business.
Take a flexible and creative approach to problem solving.
Embed consistent security management processes through the use of traditional and technical risk management tools and processes.
Effectively manage operating from tactical, on the ground delivery to operational and strategic guidance, advice and support.
Provide mentorship, support and guide others in the Line security function and ISC as a first level leader in BP.
Maintain and improve relationships within the BP world-wide security network, other functions, business segments, Law enforcement and government bodies.
