Executive Protection Team Lead is responsible for strategic oversight of Pfizer Global Security’s Executive Protection program for its Chief Executive Officer, Executive Chairman Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team and ensures all Pfizer executive leaders have adequate protection for their business and personal lives commensurate with their position and the security threats they face. This includes developing and applying strategic direction on appropriate protection measures to mitigate risk whenever traveling outside of Pfizer HQ, located in New York, whether domestic or international. The EP Team Lead must be available at all hours to ensure no harm comes to Pfizer executives.

The EP Team Lead will also interface with employees and support staff across multiple teams within and outside Pfizer and particularly must possess the ability to exercise diplomacy and tact when interacting with Pfizer executive leadership, their respective chiefs of staff, executive assistants, and personnel assigned to Pfizer Corporate Aviation. The team lead must provide a strategic and consistent level of protective service during both
domestic and international travel and must possess necessary skills to establish trust and confidence with the executives, their respective staff and be sensitive to business etiquette and corporate culture. The EP Team Lead must create a range of tools and techniques to include risk assessments, site security assessments and security plans in support of managing and documenting activities associated to the Executive Protection program.

Role Responsibilities
Provide guidance and strategic oversight to preserve the medical health and safety of Pfizer executives during domestic and international travel.
Provide guidance and strategic oversight by use of Executive Protection accepted best practices to protect Pfizer executives in all aspects of life; home, office and traveling.
Establish protective measures and protocols to mitigate threats during domestic and international travel.
Build a network of contacts and relationships throughout the company, local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, and at the executive’s travel destination to ensure appropriate protective measures are in place.
Lead a proven team of mature, discreet security professionals to provide responsive and dependable security risk management while remaining sensitive to the company’s culture.
Lead the security team in excelling at facilitation, interaction and maintaining a discrete but vigilant security presence when interacting with the executives.
Ability to adopt a continuous improvement mindset to reflect changes in the threat landscape.


Qualifications
4 Year colleague degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
10 years minimum of law enforcement experience required
5+ years prior management experience required
Experience and expertise in working protective services
Proficient report writer
Prior experience in budget management
Prior exposure to and utilization of intelligence analysis
Demonstrated computer skills
Demonstrated technical capabilities related to protection services preferred
Excellent communication skills with emphasis on security presentations/briefings for Executives and Staff
Excellent people skills – ability to coordinate and collaborate with executive leaders, leadership’s staff, security professionals and business partners both inside and outside of Pfizer
Good command of HR policies and strong advocate for a professional and equal opportunity workplace valuing all colleagues
At a minimum CPR certified. EMT or Paramedic qualifications preferred.
Trained and proficient in all levels of threat identification and response.
Authorized to carry a firearm.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
This position involves both long periods of desk, computer and phone work but also regular domestic and international travel for extended periods. Must be able to respond to security and safety matters throughout in a wide range on domestic and international venues to assist the CEO or ELT member.

Ability to travel both domestically and foreign in all modes of transportation
Must be physically able to quickly respond to executive protection needs inside and outside Pfizer HQ.
Ability to administer first responder support to Executive Leadership.
Proficient and physically able to address individuals posing a threat to Executives. Able to judge and use all levels of force appropriate to address any threat.
Understands and continues to learn current and emerging technology related to protection services
Possess valid driver’s license and can operate a vehicle


NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
This position is located in Pfizer HQ in NY
40-hour work-week with schedule flexibility. Must have flexible availability including holidays, nights and weekends to respond to protection needs and ability to travel outside of normal working hours
There is regular travel associated with this position, both domestic and foreign. Occasionally, travel can be on very short notice and includes nights and weekends, travel may extend to a week or more.
